The genesis of Daily Salt began on April 1, 2014. This marked the day Scott Harrison returned to Newcastle after spending several years in the heart of Sydney, surrounded by concrete, working in an office, and breathing everything but clean air. Upon moving back to the great town where he grew up, Scott was immediately inspired to reignite his passion for photography and his love for the ocean, the beach, and the lifestyle surrounding it. He believes that salt air and salt water offer countless benefits to the body and mind, whether experienced through surfing, swimming, lounging on the beach, walking along a coastal track, or other activities. Scott firmly believes that time spent near or in the ocean brings happiness, health, and peace.

Scott resides in Merewether, NSW, Australia. His "daily salt" ritual begins at 5 a.m. every day, as he can be found wandering around any of Newcastle's world-class beaches, capturing photographs, diving into the ocean, sipping coffee, and generally being grateful to live in such an amazing place.
